Lyon France has the second most murals of any European city only to Berlin. They pop up out of seemingly nowhere as you turn a corner or wander into a square. “Wow, look at that one.”
They depict common scenes or historical figures important to the city and they are fantastic.
In a city known for its cuisine, Roman history and history in textiles and filmmaking, the murals made the city for us. We have, no doubt, more to find and discover but the “city of lights” will illuminate more upon our return.
